Wedding Make-up Tips

Unless you're a make-up expert and used to changing your look on a regular basis, go for a make-up lesson or two. Always wear white and have your hair done in something like your wedding day style so that you know which bits of your face are most exposed. Wear your wedding make-up in public and under all kinds of lighting before the day and, if you're hiring a make-up artist, get to know him or her and give him or her two or three trial runs. Get any plucking, waxing and facials done in advance to give the redness time to settle down.

Wedding make-up needs staying power: you will be kissed, hugged, cried over and probably rained on if it's an English wedding. Use waterproof mascara and give your bridesmaids a full make-up kit, hairbrush, spray and pins in case you need repairs.

Get a manicure, even if you would normally varnish your own nails. Professional manicures last longer and your hands are going to be photographed when you're showing off your ring, cutting the cake and throwing your bouquet.

You might consider including your bridesmaids and perhaps both the mothers as well in some of these hair and make-up experiments.
