Insurance may sound a bit pessimistic but, with the current costs of weddings, it makes a lot of sense. The cost of insuring a wedding varies from about £40 to £200 depending on the amount insured. It will cover you not only for cancellation but also for public liability (if someone is injured at the reception), damage to wedding clothes, loss of rings, disappearance of the cake and even professional counselling should either of you be left at the altar.
