The bride's flowers symbolise innocence and purity although they are more likely to be chosen because they go well with the dress.
Flowers for the Wedding Party
Flowers for the wedding party are usually provided by the bride's family, with buttonholes for the men and corsages for the ladies. The buttonholes for the bridegroom, best man, ushers and fathers of the bridal couple will usually match the bride's bouquet, or at least the general wedding colour scheme. For the bride and bridegroom's mothers and grandmothers it's best to provide white flowers or flowers which tone in with their outfits. And, if your budget will stretch that far, it's a nice touch to give one of the ushers a basket of buttonholes for all the guests - especially if it's a summer wedding.
Flowers for the Ceremony and Reception
Flowers for both the wedding ceremony and the reception can be expensive, so see if you can share the cost of decorating the church or wedding room with another wedding couple. Alternatively, you might be able to take some of the arrangements with you from the ceremony to the reception. If it's a church wedding there are usually some flower arrangers at the church who may be willing to help you. They will have all the vases and equipment as well as the expertise and perhaps even some tips about where to buy the flowers more cheaply.
