Wedding Catering Services
Usually the catering options are as follows.
- Service provided as part of wedding package at hotel, restaurant, pub, etc.
- Outside catering company comes in to your venue, hired by you.
- Catering done by you, family members and friends.
Option 1 is normally pretty safe, but options 2 and 3 can lead to a bit of nail-biting on your part as although the good news is you have more direct control over the food and drink served, you also have the worry of whether it will all hang together on the day.
As for Option 2, the outside catering company, personal recommendation is probably the best way to ensure you steer clear of trouble. Interview companies, ask for references and check them out. Try not to be too heavily influenced by price, because with catering as with so many other things, you tend only to get what you pay for. Particularly if your wedding is taking place during the peak of the 'wedding season,' ask the company what contingency plans they have for staff shortages, etc, and how they handle such a busy workload effectively.
Option 3 can work brilliantly, but you must be able to trust all involved!
