Holiday Jobs Abroad

If you are in your teens or early twenties, there are a number of schemes designed to enable you to travel and live in other countries for a short while without having to go through the masses of red tape to gain entry to them.

Many are holiday jobs, but not all of them pay well, if at all. Indeed, you may well have to make some financial contribution yourself. These are jobs where the experience you gain is regarded as of greater importance than financial reward.

The Central Bureau for International Education and Training publishes leaflets with plenty of suggestions on holiday jobs for young people. It also publishes an annual guide entitled Working Holidays. Vacation Work International publishes and distributes some relevant handbooks: Directory of Summer Jobs of the US and Emplois d'Ete en France.
