Bar Staff

There is still plenty of work for bar staff. While experience is a bonus, all you need is enthusiasm and friendliness.

Working hours: Hours are usually based around working shifts. Some pubs in the City of London don't open on the weekends. New licensing laws in England came into effect in November 2005 and allow 24-hour drinking licences for those premises that have successfully applied.

Rates of pay: up to £5 per hour. This may include some drinks or food. Tipping is not the norm in the UK pubs although it is more common in the trendier bars.
