Ferries to Portugal

If you are taking your car you have a couple of alternative boat routes:

• To a French port such as St Malo or Caen, and drive to Portugal, about 1,100 miles, or ferry/shuttle and motor rail from Paris to Lisbon.
• To Santander or Bilbao, N. Spain: 24-hour crossing and drive to Portugal, about 550 miles.

Costs vary according to season, number of passengers travelling in vehicle, size of vehicle. The ferries may not be operating during certain winter months, so check in advance before planning your journey.
